Does Hexnode save BitLocker recovery keys automatically or do I need to enable something?Solved

We’ve enabled BitLocker on our Windows devices using Hexnode, and encryption seems to be working fine. Just wanted to check—does Hexnode automatically store the recovery key, or do we need to configure something for that?

Yeah, it can store the recovery key, but only if the BitLocker policy has the escrow option enabled. If that setting isn’t turned on, the key won’t get saved in the console.

Alright, that helps. Do you know where exactly in the console I can find the recovery key once it’s stored?

Hello!

You can access the recovery key from the device details in the Hexnode console:

  1. Go to the Manage tab.

  1. Select the required Windows device.

  1. Open the Device Summary page.

  1. Navigate to the Hardware Info section.

The BitLocker Recovery Key (48-digit numerical password) will be listed there.

Make sure the “Escrow recovery password to Hexnode UEM” option is enabled in your BitLocker policy. Without that, the recovery key won’t be available in the console.
