Clear cache for an Android web app in Hexnode kiosk without losing saved loginsSolved

We have Android tablets locked down in Hexnode kiosk mode with a web app opened through the Hexnode Kiosk Browser. The web app stopped loading correctly, and clearing the cache on a desktop browser fixed the same issue there.
I need to clear the cache on the tablets too, but I don’t want to lose the saved SharePoint login/session on the kiosk browser. I checked the kiosk policy and the Advanced Website Kiosk Settings option is greyed out. I also saw the Clear App Data action for Hexnode Kiosk Browser, but I’m worried that might wipe the saved login details.
Is there a way to clear only the browser cache on Android kiosk devices without resetting the whole kiosk browser?

The behavior depends on how you clear the browser data.

If you use the Hexnode portal action:

  1. Go to Manage > Devices.
  2. Select the Android device.
  3. Click Actions > Clear App Data.
  4. Select Hexnode Kiosk Browser.

This resets the Hexnode Kiosk Browser app data. It clears cache, cookies, saved sessions, local storage, saved form data, and saved login information. So, if the SharePoint session or credentials are stored in the kiosk browser, this action can sign the user out.

For clearing only the cache while preserving saved login data, use the manual workaround:

  1. On the kiosk device, tap the screen 10 times to open the kiosk exit prompt.
  2. Enter the kiosk exit password.
  3. Exit kiosk mode and open the browser/app settings directly on the Android device.
  4. Clear only cached images/files or browser cache. Avoid clearing cookies, site data, saved passwords, or storage if you want to preserve the SharePoint login.
  5. Re-enable kiosk mode after confirming the web app works.

The Advanced Website Kiosk Settings option is plan-dependent. If it is greyed out, cache management from that section is not available for the current plan, so the manual device-side method is the safer option when saved credentials must be retained.
