ChromeOS Managed Google Play app deployment no longer requires deleting the appSolved

I’m managing ChromeOS devices with Hexnode and adding apps from Managed Google Play through a ChromeOS policy. Earlier, if the same Managed Google Play app was already present in the portal, I couldn’t deploy it to ChromeOS unless I deleted the managed app entry first and added it again.

Is that deletion step still required, or can the same Managed Google Play app now be added directly to a ChromeOS policy?

Hello @edmund ,

The Managed Google Play workflow for ChromeOS app deployment has been optimized. You can now deploy the same Managed Google Play application to ChromeOS devices without deleting the app from the Hexnode UEM portal first.

Use the regular deployment flow:

  1. Open the ChromeOS policy where the app should be deployed.
  2. Add the required Managed Google Play app to the app configuration.
  3. Save the policy.
  4. Associate or re-associate the policy with the required ChromeOS devices or device groups.

The previously required workaround of deleting the managed app from the portal before deploying it to ChromeOS is no longer needed.
