I’m setting up Android devices in kiosk lockdown and want users to edit photos saved on the device. Is that possible while the phone is locked down, or does kiosk mode block access to storage and photo editing apps?

Yes @zayn_nj, users can edit photos on an Android device in kiosk lockdown, provided the required apps are allowed in the kiosk policy.
Add one of the following to the Android kiosk profile:
- The device’s Gallery app, if it supports basic editing.
- A dedicated photo editing app, if users need more editing options.
If users also need to browse device storage or select photos from specific folders, allow a File management app such as Files. In some cases, adding Settings may also be required if the workflow depends on storage permissions or app-specific configuration.
Keep in mind that any app added to the kiosk allowlist becomes accessible to the user within kiosk mode, so only add the apps needed for the photo editing workflow.

That makes sense. So if I only add Gallery, users can open and edit photos, but they may not be able to browse all folders unless Files is also added, right?

Correct. Gallery is usually enough if the photos already appear in the gallery library. If the users need to pick files from specific storage directories, adding Files to the kiosk allowlist would be the better option. For tighter lockdown, test the workflow first with only Gallery or the photo editor, then add Files only if storage navigation is required.
