Bulk remove inactive devices and reclaim licenses in HexnodeSolved

We have a large number of inactive devices showing in Hexnode and want to remove or disenroll them so the licenses go back into the available pool. Since these devices are inactive, I’m not sure whether a normal disenroll command is enough or if there’s a better bulk method from the portal. What’s the recommended way to clean these up safely?

You can bulk disenroll inactive devices from the Hexnode portal and then mark them as disenrolled to release the licenses.

Recommended workflow:

1. Go to the Manage tab.

2. Select the required devices using the checkboxes or the master checkbox.

3. Click Actions > Device Control > Disenroll Device.

This queues the disenrollment command. If any of those devices come online, the command can be processed on the device.

Since inactive devices may not come online immediately, you can then free up the licenses from Reports:

1. Go to Reports.

2. Open Disenrollment Pending Devices.

3. Select the devices.

4. Click Actions > Mark as Disenrolled.

Marking them as disenrolled removes them from the active inventory and returns the associated licenses to the available license pool.

Before doing this, make sure the target devices are not locked in Kiosk Mode and that Factory Reset Protection is not enabled, especially if the devices may need to be set up again later.
