Blank page when editing a macOS policy in HexnodeSolved

Hi everyone. When I try to edit one specific macOS supervised policy in our Hexnode portal, the policy editor just opens to a completely blank white page. All of my other policies load normally.

At first, opening the policy in an incognito window worked, so I cleared my browser cache and cookies. However, the issue came back. This time I tried three different browsers, all in incognito mode with extensions (like ad blockers) completely disabled, and the page is still blank. I even tried cloning the policy, but the clone page goes blank too.

Is there a specific setting I’m missing, or is this an issue with the policy itself?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect!

Because you have already systematically ruled out local browser issues, this behavior points to a policy-specific rendering problem on the portal side.

Generally, a blank policy editor is caused by one of two things:

  1. Local Browser Interference: Stale cache, cookies, or aggressive browser extensions blocking portal scripts. If incognito mode immediately fixes the issue, clearing the cache is the standard resolution.
  2. Policy-Specific Loading Issue: If the blank page persists across multiple clean browsers, in incognito mode, with extensions disabled, and completely breaks the “Clone” action, the issue is not on your local machine.

Since your situation matches the second scenario, recreating the policy from scratch is not the recommended first step. This specific behavior requires a backend fix from our team to correct how the policy editor renders that specific configuration.

Please reach out to Hexnode Support with the name of the affected policy. Once our team applies the portal-side fix, you will be able to edit your original policy normally without needing to rebuild it.

I hope this helps clarify your troubleshooting steps! Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
George
