Android multi-app kiosk: allow an app and specific Chrome URLSolved

For this requirement, use Android Multi-app kiosk mode instead of single-app kiosk mode.

A single-app kiosk policy is intended to lock the device to one app only. If users need access to both an app and a specific URL, configure the URL as a web app and add both items to a multi-app kiosk policy.

Recommended approach:

1. Clone the existing working single-app kiosk policy so the live setup is not disrupted.
2. Change the cloned policy to Android Multi-app kiosk mode.
3. Add the required enterprise app to the kiosk app list.
4. Add the required URL as a web app in Hexnode.
5. Add that web app to the same Multi-app kiosk policy.
6. Make sure the required navigation controls are enabled if users need to switch between the app and the URL.
7. Save the policy, associate it with the test device, and restart the device after the policy is applied.

Once configured this way, the kiosk policy itself restricts access to apps outside the approved kiosk list, so a separate app blocklist is usually not required for this use case.

That makes sense. I was trying to make the existing single-app kiosk do both things, which is probably why it kept getting stuck. After switching to multi-app kiosk, the app and URL are both there, but switching between them still seems awkward because the navigation buttons are hidden.

If the device needs to move between the enterprise app and the web app/URL, check the Peripheral settings in the kiosk policy.

Ensure the required navigation controls (including the Recent Apps button) are enabled in the kiosk policy, then restart the device. This will allow you to switch between the kiosk app and the URL as expected.

Also, if you are testing through a remote view or screen capture session and the screen cannot be viewed, verify whether screen capture is disabled by policy. Enabling screen capture for troubleshooting can help confirm the kiosk behavior remotely.
