Android Enterprise enrollment shows “Trying to enroll?” authentication prompt on Samsung tabletSolved

I’m enrolling a Samsung tablet with Android Enterprise using a QR code. The setup goes through normally at first, but then I get a screen that says “Trying to enroll?” and it asks me to authenticate using options like Hexnode, Google, Microsoft, or Okta.

I don’t remember seeing this prompt when I enrolled Android phones earlier. Is this expected for tablets, or is there a setting I need to change so the device enrolls without asking for authentication?

Hey @mila_beck,

This prompt usually appears when enforced authentication is enabled in the Android Enterprise enrollment profile used by the QR code.

To enroll the device without that authentication screen:

  1. Open the enrollment profile associated with the QR code being scanned.
  2. Go to User Authentication settings in that enrollment profile.
  3. Disable Enforced authentication and select No Authentication.
  4. Configure the Domain and User settings.
  5. Save the enrollment profile.
  6. Restart the enrollment on the Samsung tablet and scan the QR code again.

The behavior is controlled by the enrollment profile, not by the device being a tablet specifically. If the Android phones were enrolled using a different profile or a profile where enforced authentication was not enabled, they would not have shown the same prompt.
