Some of our Android devices that had not been used for a while entered Lost Mode automatically. I could not find anything in the device action history showing that Lost Mode was triggered manually. Is there a setting that can cause Android devices to go into Lost Mode due to inactivity?

Yes, @maevee. Hexnode has an Android Lost Mode setting that can automatically place devices into Lost Mode after a configured period of inactivity.

To check or change this setting:

  1. Go to Admin > General Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Android Lost Mode Settings section.
  3. Review the inactivity-based Lost Mode configuration.
  4. Disable it or adjust the inactivity duration as required.

If this setting is enabled, Android devices that remain inactive beyond the configured threshold may enter Lost Mode automatically. Since the action is triggered by the configured inactivity setting, it may not appear the same way as a manually initiated Lost Mode action in the device action history.

That explains it. I did not realize there was a global Android Lost Mode setting under Admin > General. The affected devices were mostly ones that had not been used recently, so this matches what we were seeing.
