Add Microsoft To Do to Hexnode for macOS and WindowsSolved

Hi everyone. I’m trying to deploy Microsoft To Do to both Windows and macOS endpoints using Hexnode. For Windows, I easily found and added the app from the store repository, but I’m stuck on macOS. I expected to see a dedicated “macOS Apps” option under + Add Apps, but it isn’t visible in my portal. What is the correct workflow to add Microsoft To Do for Mac devices and push it out to production endpoints?

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect!
Deploying Microsoft To Do requires slightly different workflows depending on the operating system:

  • For Windows Devices: Navigate to Apps > + Add Apps > Store App > Windows, search for Microsoft To Do, add it to your inventory, and deploy it via policy or remote action.
  • For macOS Devices: macOS App Store apps are deployed via Apple Business Manager (ABM) / VPP licensing:
    1. Log into Apple Business Manager, go to Apps and Books, search for Microsoft To Do, and acquire the required number of licenses (even for free apps, zero-cost licenses must be explicitly claimed).
    2. In Hexnode, go to Admin > Apple Business Manager > Apple VPP and click Sync.
    3. Once synced, navigate to Apps to confirm Microsoft To Do is present in your inventory (or select + Add Apps > Store Apps and choose macOS).
    4. Assign the app to your managed Macs using an App Installation policy.
Once VPP licenses are synced and assigned, Hexnode will silently deliver the application to your managed Mac endpoints.
