Is there a way to get an email notification when a managed device has not checked in for a few days? I want to be alerted if the device last checked in around 3 days ago, so we can follow up before it stays offline too long.

Hello @jennifer ,

Yes. You can configure this by setting a device inactivity threshold and creating a custom alert profile to notify you via email.

Here are the exact steps to set this up:

  1. Navigate to Admin > General Settings in Hexnode UEM.

  2. Under Inactivity Settings, check the box for Mark inactivity and set the duration to 3 days. Scroll down and click Save.

  3. Next, navigate to Admin > Alert Profile and click the New Alert Profile button.

  4. In the Events step, select Device as the Event Source. Click Add Event, select Device inactive from the list, click Add, and then click Next.

  5. In the Actions step, select Notify via Email and click Next.

  6. In the Targets and Technicians step, click Add Target to select the specific devices or groups you want to monitor. Then, click Add Technician to choose the technicians who should receive the email notification. Click Next.

  7. In the Profile Details step, provide a name for the alert (e.g., “Device inactivity”) and click Next.

  8. Review your configuration in the final step and click Save.

Once this is saved, Hexnode UEM will automatically trigger an email to the selected technicians whenever a targeted device fails to check in for more than 3 days.
