Mac shows compliant locally but non-compliant in Hexnode after enrollmentSolved

I’m setting up enrollment for a user’s Mac. The Mac itself shows all compliance items as green, but Hexnode still reads the device as non-compliant. I ran Sync and it completed successfully, but the status did not change right away. Has anyone seen this during macOS enrollment?

Hi @eleanor_a,

For macOS devices, a mismatch between the local compliance state and the compliance status shown in Hexnode can happen if the portal has not received the latest device response yet.

A good first check is to run a manual Sync and then verify the status directly from Hexnode:

  1. Go to Manage > Devices.
  2. Open the affected Mac device record.
  3. Check whether Hexnode now shows the device as compliant or non-compliant.

If the device still appears non-compliant after a successful sync, also check the Apple Push Notification service certificate used for macOS MDM communication. If the APNs certificate is expired, Hexnode may not receive updated device state information correctly.

Renew the existing APNs certificate and upload the renewed certificate back to Hexnode. Make sure it is renewed using the same Apple Account and certificate, rather than creating a new APNs certificate, as replacing it can require devices to be re-enrolled.
