Hi @ryker,
Hexnode cannot customize or edit the text shown in macOS password expiration notifications.
On macOS, password expiration dialogs, login prompts, and system notification text are rendered by the operating system. Hexnode can deploy the passcode policy to the Mac using Apple’s standard configuration profile payload, such as com.apple.mobiledevice.passwordpolicy, but the actual wording and behavior of the prompt are controlled by macOS.
Early prompts can appear for a couple of reasons:
- macOS or the directory service may have its own built-in warning period before the actual password expiry date.
- If a password policy is newly assigned or updated, macOS may prompt the user to change the password at the next login, even if the current password has not yet expired.
If the issue is mainly user confusion, the practical options are to review the password expiration settings and communicate internally that the early warning is a native macOS behavior rather than customizable Hexnode text.
