Android multi-app kiosk layout resets to page 1 when tablet auto-rotatesSolved

Welcome to the Hexnode Community! For Android multi-app kiosk mode, the portrait and landscape layouts are handled as separate layout grids in the kiosk layout designer. If the device is set to auto-rotate, Hexnode switches between the portrait layout and the landscape layout depending on the device orientation.

This means that arranging an app or file shortcut on page 2 in the landscape layout does not automatically place it on page 2 in the portrait layout. If the portrait layout has not been configured separately, the item may appear on page 1 when the tablet is rotated.

To keep the layout consistent across both orientations:

1. Open the active kiosk policy.
2. Go to Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Multi App.
3. In the layout designer, use the orientation/layout preview dropdown above the device canvas.
4. Select Landscape.
5. Add the required second page and arrange the apps or file shortcuts as needed.
6. Switch the same dropdown to Portrait.
7. Add a second page in the portrait layout as well.
8. Move the same app or file shortcut to page 2 in the portrait layout.
9. Save the policy and allow the device to sync.

After both orientation layouts are mapped manually, the app or PDF shortcut should remain on the intended page whether the tablet is held in portrait or landscape mode.

That explains it. I had only arranged the second page while viewing the layout in landscape. When I switched to portrait in the layout designer, everything was still on the first page.
