Remove old Hexnode MDM profile on macOS when it asks for a removal passwordSolved

A MacBook has an old Hexnode management profile that seems to have come over from a previous device backup. The Hexnode UEM app is not installed on the Mac, and the device does not appear in the Hexnode portal anymore. When trying to remove the old profile from macOS, it asks for a profile removal password. Because of this, the new enrollment profile cannot be installed. What password should be used to remove the old profile?

If the old Hexnode MDM profile is asking for a removal password, use the UEM password configured in the Hexnode portal.

You can find it from:

Admin > Enrollment > Security > UEM password

Enter this password on the Mac when macOS prompts for the profile removal password. Once the old management profile is removed, the new enrollment profile can be installed normally.

This can be useful when the device is no longer listed in the portal or when the Hexnode UEM app is not present on the Mac, but the old MDM profile still remains installed.
