Android kiosk web app refreshes when scrolling up in Hexnode Kiosk BrowserSolved

We have an Android device running a web app in kiosk mode through Hexnode Kiosk Browser. When users scroll upward inside the web app, the page refreshes unexpectedly, almost like a pull-to-refresh action is being triggered. Has anyone seen this with kiosk browser deployments? Re-enabling kiosk mode alone did not seem to stop it.

This behavior can occur if the device is running an older Hexnode Kiosk Browser APK. Updating the Kiosk Browser app and then reinstalling it on the device should resolve the unexpected refresh while scrolling.

If the Kiosk Browser APK is deployed as an enterprise app, try the following:

1. Go to Apps in the Hexnode portal.

2. Filter the app list by App Type: Enterprise App and Platform: Android.

3. Open the Hexnode Kiosk Browser app entry.

4. Click the settings/gear icon and choose Edit.

5. Use Change next to the APK file and upload the latest Hexnode Kiosk Browser APK.

6. Save the app.

7. Update the Required Apps policy so it points to the updated app version.

8. Exit kiosk mode on the device.

9. Open the Hexnode app on the device, go to the Apps section, and install the updated Kiosk Browser.

10. Re-enable kiosk mode and test the web app again.

After the updated APK is installed, the web app should no longer refresh when scrolling upward.

I ran into an installation error the first time after replacing the APK. In my case, retrying the install after exiting kiosk mode properly let the app update go through. Worth checking that the device has actually installed the newer Kiosk Browser before testing again.

Yes, the key part is making sure the updated APK is both uploaded to App Inventory and applied through the Required Apps policy. If the policy still references the older app package/version, the device may continue using the old Kiosk Browser even after the APK is changed in the inventory.

Once the updated browser is installed, re-enter kiosk mode and test the same scroll action inside the web app.
