Deleting an incorrect Apple VPP account/location added in HexnodeSolved

I accidentally added a new Apple VPP account/location in Hexnode when I meant to renew the token for the existing VPP location. The original VPP location is the correct one and has already been renewed.

Now I can see a second VPP location that was created by mistake, and it shows some assets/licenses associated with it. Before deleting the incorrect VPP account from Hexnode, I want to confirm whether this could affect existing enrolled devices or apps already assigned through the correct VPP location.

Hello @stevenhere ,

If a new VPP account/location was added by mistake, it is generally safe to remove it from Hexnode as long as the licenses associated with that VPP location are not required for app deployment.

Deleting the incorrect VPP account/location from Hexnode will not remove enrolled devices from the portal. However, any apps or licenses that are available only through the deleted VPP location will no longer be usable from that account in Hexnode.

Before deleting it, verify the app/license assignment in Apple Business or Apple School Manager. If the incorrect VPP location contains licenses that are needed, those licenses must be available under the correct VPP location before you continue managing or deploying those apps from Hexnode.

For renewing an existing VPP setup, make sure the token is downloaded from the correct Apple location and uploaded against the existing VPP account in Hexnode, rather than adding it as a new VPP account.

Oh got it. The devices are not the concern then; it’s mainly whether any app licenses are tied only to the wrong VPP location. I’ll verify the licenses in Apple Business before removing the extra VPP account.
