Hexnode Agent stuck on connecting screen on Windows laptopSolved

One of our Windows laptops is not syncing properly with Hexnode. When the Hexnode Agent is opened on the device, it stays on the connecting screen and does not seem to move forward.

After reinstalling the agent and refreshing the device from the portal, the device looked better, but the updated local user account details did not show up immediately under Local Accounts. Does the portal take some time to update this after an agent reinstall?

Hi @matteo .

If the Hexnode Agent on a Windows device is stuck on the connecting screen, reinstalling the Hexnode Agent using the enrollment URL from the Hexnode portal is a valid troubleshooting step. This refreshes the agent connection and allows the device to re-establish communication with the portal.

After reinstalling the agent or refreshing the device, inventory details may not appear immediately. Information such as Local Accounts is updated only after the device completes a full scan and syncs the results back to the portal.

Recommended flow:

  1. Reinstall the Hexnode Agent using the enrollment URL.
  2. Open the Hexnode Agent and confirm that it no longer remains stuck on connecting.
  3. In the Hexnode UEM portal, navigate to Manage > select the device > Actions > Scanning & Monitoring > Scan device
  4. Wait for the device scan to complete.
  5. Check the Local Accounts section again after the scan data is updated.

A short delay before the Local Accounts data appears in the portal is expected.

I’ve seen this too after reinstalling the Windows agent. The device can show as online before all inventory sections are fully updated. Local Accounts took a few minutes to populate for us after the scan finished.

That matches what happened here. Reinstalling the Hexnode Agent fixed the connecting screen, and the Local Accounts section updated after waiting for the scan to complete. Looks like it was just a sync delay after the reinstall.
