Did Apple Business Manager (ABM) change its name?Solved

Hey everyone, quick question because I’m a little freaked out.

I went to log into the Apple portal this morning to assign some new iPhones to our Hexnode server, and I noticed the site is just calling itself “Apple Business” now instead of Apple Business Manager.

Did they completely change the service? More importantly, is this going to mess up my ADE (DEP) and VPP tokens in Hexnode? I haven’t touched anything yet because I’m scared syncing it might break our enrollment flow if the API or something changed. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, I saw that too! It threw me off on Monday. Looks like Apple quietly dropped the “Manager” part of the name. Classic Apple rebranding… just like when they changed DEP to ADE. Everything seems exactly the same once you actually log in though.

Hey @boris, take a deep breath! It’s purely a cosmetic rebrand on Apple’s end.

Under the hood, the infrastructure hasn’t changed at all. Your existing server tokens, VPP apps, and automated device enrollment profiles are perfectly safe and will continue to communicate with Hexnode just like they did yesterday. You do not need to generate new tokens or change your workflow.

Hexnode still currently refers to it as ABM/Apple Business Manager in the UEM portal interface, so don’t let the name mismatch confuse you. It’s the exact same service, just a shorter name. Business as usual!
