I have an app that points to a server, and I want to change the URL. How can I do that on an iPad?

Hey there! Just to clarify, are you talking about web apps created directly in the hexnode portal, or is this a custom enterprise app you deployed?

Actually, we have an iPad kiosk and there are a couple of web apps that we have created in Hexnode. We need to update the URL for these web apps. We thought about creating new web apps, but it will create duplicates in the hexnode app inventory. Is there a way to change it for the already created ones?

Hey @desmond,

Thank you for reaching out! And thanks to @douglas for jumping in to help clarify.

Editing the existing web app is definitely the best approach to keep your app inventory clean and avoid any duplicates. You can easily update the URL for your existing web apps right from the console. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Navigate to the Apps > Local Apps in your Hexnode UEM console.
  2. Filter by Web Apps and click on the app’s name.
  3. In the App Details prompt that appears, click on the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner and select Edit.
  4. Locate the URL field and update it with your new server link.
  5. Click Save.

Once saved, the updated URL will automatically sync to the iPads. If the iPads are actively running in Kiosk mode, you can push a Scan Device action from the Manage tab to force the devices to sync the new URL immediately.

If you run into any issues or have any more questions, just let me know!

Cheers,
