Hey everyone. We’re deploying Windows-based screens at an airport and need them to run only one custom web application via Chrome. We want to block all other access. Does Hexnode have a way to handle this?

Yes, there is a way to do it through Hexnode. You can remotely apply the Windows Website Kiosk policy to lock the devices down to that single web app.

How do we do that? Our devices aren’t enrolled yet, so we’re starting from scratch.

In that case, you’ll need to enroll your devices in Hexnode first using an enrollment URL.

Hello @mila_beck . You can find the enrollment URL under Enroll > Platform-Specific > Windows > Windows PCs & Tablets. You can send this URL via email or SMS to the target user whose name will be associated with the enrolled device.

You can also enroll the device natively through the system settings. Navigate to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school > Connect, enter the target user’s email address, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the enrollment process.

For more enrollment methods and detailed information on how to enroll your Windows devices to Hexnode UEM, please refer to this guide: How to enroll Windows PCs & Tablets? You can select the method that best aligns with your deployment needs.

Elle Reed,

Perfect. I’ll send the URL to the on-ground staff’s email so they can complete the enrollment in their name.

Just don’t forget about the Website Kiosk policy to ensure its locked down to the browser alone.

@elle_reed , where exactly do I find the Website Kiosk policy?

@mila_beck , the Website Kiosk policy for Windows is located under the Windows policies section. Navigate to Policies > New Policy > Windows > Kiosk Lockdown > Website Kiosk.

Please note that the Windows Website Kiosk policy is only compatible with Microsoft Edge and the Hexnode Kiosk Browser; Google Chrome is not an available option for this specific policy. However, you will find that these browsers offer similar lockdown functionalities to meet your requirements.

Understood. In that case, I’ll try it out using the Hexnode Kiosk Browser. Thanks for the help, @elle_reed !
