We’ve faced something similar in our setup. On a few older tablets, auto-brightness was available as a device-level setting, and drivers found it really helpful—especially on long routes where lighting changes constantly.
Once those devices were moved into kiosk mode, the option was no longer accessible, and we’ve had users asking if that experience can be restored. It definitely reduced the need for frequent manual brightness adjustments.
Hi all,
Currently, Hexnode doesn’t support automatic screen brightness adjustment based on ambient light when devices are configured in kiosk mode.
Manual brightness control can be configured from the Hexnode portal by navigating to:
Policy > Android > Kiosk > Kiosk Lockdown > Peripheral settings > Display > Brightness.

Thanks, Isabel. However, our requirement is specifically for automatic screen brightness adjustment.
Understood @carter . We’ve noted this requirement and shared it with our product team as a feature request for future consideration. We’ll keep you updated on any progress.
