Hi team, I did a remote wipe on a Mac, and when it comes back up, it has an activation lock. I checked Hexnode, and it shows no activation lock. I’ve tried every Apple account we have, but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?

Thanks for reaching out! Just to confirm, is the device enrolled via Apple Business Manager (ABM)?

Perfect. Since the Mac device is ABM-enrolled, the activation lock is managed by Apple and not directly by Hexnode. Here’s how you can remove it:
Step 1: Log in to Apple Business Manager
- Sign in with your ABM administrator account.
Step 2: Locate the Device.
- In the search bar at the top, enter the Mac’s serial number or device name.
- Click the device in the search results to open the device details page.
Step 3: Turn Off Activation Lock
- Click the three dots (…) menu on the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select Turn Off Activation Lock.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Step 4: Reboot the Mac
- Once you’ve removed the activation lock in ABM, reboot the Mac device.
- The device should now start up without asking for Apple ID credentials.

Just rebooted it… and it seems to have worked! The Mac started up without asking for any Apple ID. Thank you!
