Hello everyone, I’ve noticed that within the password policy settings, the options “Password never expires” and “User cannot change password” are disabled. Could someone explain why this occurs?

I’ve run into that as well. At first, I assumed it was some kind of system glitch or limitation. I usually just leave it alone and configure other settings.

The options “Password never expires” and “User cannot change password” are mutually exclusive with the “User must change password at next login” setting.
When the “User must change password at next login” checkbox is selected, those two options are intentionally disabled to prevent conflicting configurations. If you wish to enable either “Password never expires” or “User cannot change password”, you must first uncheck the “User must change password at next login” option. Once that setting is cleared, the other options will become available.
This ensures consistency in password management and avoids contradictory policy enforcement.

Ah, that makes sense now. I was scratching my head because I thought the system was just locking me out of those options. It’s good to know it’s intentional and not a bug.

Exactly man . It’s kinda a smart safeguard if you think about it. Forcing a password change and simultaneously saying “password never expires” would be contradictory. Damn good guys!
