Hey, I had my iOS devices set up in Hexnode, but I forgot to remove the Apple ID before I restored them to factory settings. Now I’m stuck with the activation lock. Can I clear it using the Clear Activation Lock option in Hexnode?
How to bypass Activation Lock?Solved

Hi @clauss,
Could you please let me know if the activation lock is organisation-linked, or user-linked?

Sorry to jump in, what’s the difference between the two?
Hi @wilma,
Organisation-linked Activation Lock:
Organisation-linked Activation Lock is enabled when devices are enrolled through Apple Business Manager (ABM) or Apple School Manager (ASM) and supervised by Hexnode. In this setup, the device is Activation Locked using the organisation’s ABM/ASM account, allowing the organisation to retain ownership and control of the device.
User-linked Activation Lock:
User-linked Activation Lock occurs when a user signs in with a personal Apple ID and enables Find My on a device managed by Hexnode. In this setup, Activation Lock is manually enabled by the user and is tied to their personal Apple ID rather than the organisation.

Organisation-linked, it is.
Thanks for confirming.
The Clear Activation Lock remote action in the Hexnode UEM portal works only for user-linked Activation Lock. Organization-linked Activation Lock cannot be cleared using Hexnode UEM.
