Hey team,
We’ve got a batch of Android devices and I’m trying to enroll them into Hexnode MDM. However, it looks like the Huawei devices aren’t working as seamlessly as the rest of the fleet. Doesn’t Hexnode support HarmonyOS devices?

Hi @isaiah, Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.
At present, Hexnode MDM does not support Huawei’s HarmonyOS devices. Our current supported platforms include Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, visionOS, Apple TV and Linux.
Let me give you a little backdrop which might help:
For many devices with HarmonyOS versions 1–4, these were built on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Linux kernel. However, starting with HarmonyOS Next (launched around Q4 2024), Huawei shifted to its own kernel (HongMeng / Harmony kernel) and no longer relies on AOSP compatibility. That means apps, APIs and device-management layers are diverging significantly from standard Android.
Given this evolution, full MDM support (like what we offer for Android via Android Enterprise) isn’t available for HarmonyOS devices at this time.
I hope this answers your question. Feel free to share your thoughts; we’re happy to help.
Best regards,
George
