Android enterprise app stuck loading in Kiosk mode even though Hexnode shows it as installedSolved

An Android enterprise APK is showing as successfully installed in Hexnode, but on one tablet in Kiosk mode the app tile keeps loading and does not open from the kiosk interface. The same app and kiosk configuration work on other tablets.

The device is online through mobile data. I already tried scanning the device and scanning for apps multiple times, uninstalling/reinstalling, and restarting the tablet, but the kiosk screen still shows the app as loading. In the work profile downloads section, the app looks completely installed, but it does not behave correctly in the kiosk launcher.

Has anyone seen this where Hexnode reports the app as installed, but the app stays stuck loading only on the device end?

Hello @casper ,

This can happen if the app installation status and the Kiosk policy state are out of sync on a specific device.

Since the same enterprise app and Kiosk policy work on other Android tablets, and the app appears installed on the affected device, the issue is likely isolated to that device’s kiosk policy state rather than the APK itself.

Try the following on the affected device:

  1. In the Hexnode UEM portal, open the affected device.
  2. Go to Actions and select Disable kiosk mode.
  3. Once the device exits Kiosk mode, check whether the enterprise app opens normally outside the kiosk launcher.
  4. If the app works outside Kiosk mode, remove the Kiosk policy from that device.
  5. Reapply the same Kiosk policy to the device.
  6. Wait for the device to sync and check the kiosk screen again.

Also confirm that the same app is added to the Kiosk policy. If the app is installed but not included in the kiosk configuration, it may not appear or launch correctly from the kiosk interface.
