The new version of Hexnode will include support for

    • PKG file installation

    • VPP Store App installation

Take a look at our Mac app management help documentation: https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-install-apps-silently-in-macos-devices-using-hexnode-mdm/

Looks great! So, once I have deployed an app with a particular version pkg file and I needs to update them with the new pkg file. Can I do that using Hexnode?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, you can. Go to the Hexnode app inventory and replace the old PKG file with the new one. Please follow the below steps for the same:

  1. Navigate to the Apps tab and search for the enterprise app.
  2. Click on the app and the app details box will appear.
  3. Click on the gear icon and choose the Edit option.
  4. Click on the Change icon near the PKG file and upload the new file.
  5. Click Save.

The app can now be pushed to the device via mandatory apps policy or remote actions. Please note that the app version name and version code should be higher than the previous versions.

Please use the help doc on updation of Enterprise apps to get more info.

Cheers!
