Keychain issues when associating password policy  Solved

We applied the password policy on our Macs to change the existing password. But when trying to login, an error pops up saying the system was unable to unlock the login keychain. Anyone have any idea what this could be about?

This seems to be quite a common issue, and it arises because once the policy has been applied, the user account password doesn’t match with the login keychain password anymore.

Hello @Emersyn, we are familiar with the issue you’re facing, and yes, as @Pauel mentioned, the mismatch between the user account password and login keychain password usually causes this error. But not to worry, there is a simple way around this problem. It’s been explained in detail in our troubleshooting doc on Keychain issues. Please check it out.

Thank you so much, the issue has been resolved. Another concern I have is whether the passwords stored in our keychain are accessible by the MDM. Any insight would be helpful.

With Hexnode UEM, privacy is of utmost priority. Your keychain is protected using the password you have set for your user account and is inaccessible by the UEM.

Hope this clarifies your query.
