While configuring admin settings, I saw the option for map settings to be set in either default map / Google maps. What do you actually mean by this default map?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Hexnode has two mapping tools used for loading maps to the portal. These are Google Maps and OpenStreetMap by using the Leaflet JavaScript library. By default, Hexnode uses the ‘OpenStreetMap using Leaflet’, option for loading maps to the portal. The leaflet is a widely-used open source library to build web mapping applications.
The alternative option is to use Google Maps.

Need to know more? Check out Default Map in Hexnode.

Cheers!

What are the features does the open street map have that can benefit?

Hi Maud.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

OpenStreetMap using the Leaflet JavaScript library is the default map of Hexnode. This is an open source platform widely used for embedding maps.

We have listed some key features of OpenStreetMap below:

  • Customization Features – It comes with a simple and easy interface for smooth handling and controlling web maps.
  • Browser Support – It works efficiently on a wide range of browsers for both mobile and desktop versions.
  • Interaction and Visual Features – Enhanced panning and zooming features are available to view precise locations of the devices. Multiple devices from the same location are spiderfied for better visibility.

Cheers!
