Can we update the app to the newer version using new ipa file?

Yes, you can! Kindly follow the below steps for the same:

1. Navigate to the Apps tab and search for the desired app to update
2. Click on the app
3. Click on the gear icon on app details box
4. Select Edit from the drop-down list
5. Click on the option Change beside the IPA file
6. Upload the new app version
7. Click save

Will the app be updates automatically on doing like this?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

After the old APK file is replaced with the new one in the App Inventory, If the Enterprise app to be updated was pushed to the device as a mandatory app via policy, the app gets updated on the device provided the policy remains associated with the device.
You can update the app via the Actions button. Go to management > Select the device, click on actions button and click ‘Install Application’. Select the new version of the app and click Done.
