Remote Control for Windows devices

expand collapsive

Hexnode UEM’s Remote View feature for Windows devices has been instrumental in diagnosing technical glitches and device malfunctioning remotely and instantaneously.

But we did not intend to stop there.

We’ve been working tirelessly to give you the complete remote experience, and it’s finally here, our newest rollout – Remote Control for Windows devices.

Now, admins can not just diagnose issues remotely but also act on them in real-time and troubleshoot the device from any part of the world. Admins will gain control over the target device once the user accepts the request sent from the Hexnode UEM console to grant remote control.

request permission to grant remote control

grant permission to remote control

This feature is supported on the Ultimate and Ultra subscription plans of Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs.

Happy troubleshooting!

Any roadmap items for allowing unattanded access? We currently use RemotePC to connect to systems without user intervention or after computer restarts that do not require user acceptance of control. Adding this, and a few other features, to make this more on par with Kaseya, GoToResolve, RemotePC, etc., would help us consolidate tools.

Hey @TonyL, thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns.

While we understand the appeal of unattended access, due to privacy concerns and compliance regulations, we have no choice but to alert the user and request their permission each time before initiating a remote session.

You can however request your users to check the “Don’t show again” field when granting the remote access permissions the first time, to freely initiate remote sessions in the future. Although this is not what you were looking for, it is the best we could do at the moment.

And if you have any other queries, concerns or suggestions feel free to reach out to us anytime.

Can you provide more specifics about why you have no choice in an unattended access feature? You are developing the product and have the entire choice.

There are literally dozens of remote access solutions that have this capability, and have for over a decade.

Hey @tonyl, thank you for following up with your previous query.

At Hexnode, user privacy has always been the number one priority. And we have tried our very best to provide a safe and easy-to-manage solution without ever compromising on that.

When it comes to unattended access, the feature makes perfect sense for unmanned devices. But when it comes to user devices, this ‘indispensable’ feature would be too invasive and a severe breach of user privacy.

Over the course of the last few months, we have received numerous requests like yours, and we have been working diligently to enhance admin flexibility while protecting user privacy. And we are currently in the process of making unattended access available for unmanned corporate devices. According to our current timeline, the feature should be accessible to you in about two months. I hope this answers your query.

And like always, feel free to reach out to us anytime you have any concerns or suggestions for us.

    Best Regards,
