Nested GroupsSolved

We run a hierarchical management of our devices.

All devices are a part of the company
Warehouse
Packing
Receiving
Sales
Canada
US

We load different apps at each level.  For example,
Everyone gets Adobe Acrobat Reader
Sales gets Office 365,
US Sales get “US Sales App”,
Canada sales get “Canada Sales App”

Today I need to have a single device in each of the groups… Canada Sales, Sales, All Devices

It would be much easier if I could just put a device in US Sales,  US Sales would be a member of the group Sales which is a member of all devices.  Each level has a policy that applies the necessary policy for the required apps

Hey Steven,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Hexnode currently follows the standalone technique for custom Device Groups rather than the Hierarchical method you have requested. All custom Device Groups are independent and they are not a subset nor a superset of other Device Groups. However, there are some built-in Device Groups that follow the Hierarchical system. For example; the device group “All Android Enterprise devices” is a subset of “All Android devices” which in turn is a subset of “All enrolled devices”.

We have noted down your feature request and passed it to the development team. If there are further queries, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to help you out.

Hope this clears your query.

Cheers!
