Distribute enterprise apps to personal devicesSolved

Is it possible to install our in-house app into the employees’ personal devices? Most options we considered required the usage of managed apple ID, but wouldn’t that mean that the devices need to be company-owned?

Using a managed Apple ID doesn’t necessarily mean that the device is company owned. Apple’s User Enrollment (supported on iOS 13.1+ versions), which uses a managed Apple ID, is primarily designed for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) deployment. It enables the usage of your own personal device for official purposes by separating the personal and managed data efficiently. User Enrollment requires a managed Apple ID to tie the user to an organization while having only a limited watch over the device.

While enrolling your device with Hexnode UEM, opt for Personal ownership and User Enrollment as the enrollment method.

To install your in-house app onto these personal devices, upload it to the Hexnode console first and then push it to the devices using the Install Application action or Mandatory Apps policy. Have a look at our help docs on User Enrollment and iOS Enterprise Apps Distribution for a better picture.
