Zero Touch was launched in 2016 to aid the deployment of Android Enterprise devices. The project was largely successful but the lack of extensive device support was a major drawback. Customers had to stick to the limited catalog of zero-touch enabled devices which often fell short of delivering the requirements of the enterprise.
The 2020 November update for Zero-Touch came with some major changes to the system. The infographic below details the Zero-Touch process after the update.

The extended availability and the integration of the Zero-Touch portal into the MDM console is a leap towards the ‘enterprise management from a single pane of glass’ end-state that Android and Google are working towards.
