Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

When an Android device is enrolled in Android Enterprise as a Profile Owner, a Work Profile separate from normal device workspace will get created on the device.
Work Profile separates Work apps and data on an Android device from personal apps and data.  It helps to securely manage the work environment without restricting the users from using their personal apps and data. The work profile notifications and icons for apps installed in a work profile are marked with a work badge (briefcase icon).

Kindly use the help link for more info on the same.

Cheers!

Can I set the work profile in such a way that the works apps get removed from the device when it moves out of a specific area. So that the user will not have access to the work apps when he is out of station.

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, you can. The device can be marked as non-complaint when it moves out of the geofence and the work container can be deactivated on non-compliant devices:

  1. Go to Admin-> General Settings-> Compliance Settings and enable the option ‘Device moves out of geofence’. Click Save.
  2. Navigate to Policies-> General Settings -> Android for Work – Compliance Settings. Click Configure.
  3. Enable the option ‘Deactivate Android Enterprise container on non-compliance’.
  4. Associate targets and save the policy.

Please check out our help doc on deactivating the work container for more info.

Cheers!
