Policy Layering on multiple device groupsSolved

Example: If I have a policy that has the volume set to 100% that’s applied to ALL devices and a “sub” policy that’s in a device group and has volume at 75% that applies to a couple of devices only. Which policy will get priority and in which order do they get applied.

I need to know because certain restaurants/locations need small tweaks only under specific device groups.

Hi Nikola,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As per the set MDM protocol in managing devices, when 2 contrasting configurations are applied to the device, the more restrictive configuration takes effect on the device.

The lesser the volume is on a device, the more restrictive it is. Hence, when another policy having a lower volume is attached to the device, it shall enforce the lower volume value.

Cheers!
