Authenticate using Google/Okta account for DEP enrollment

With Hexnode’s latest update, you can now enroll your devices using Apple’s DEP by authenticating via Google/Okta account.

All you need is to configure Google/Okta followed by authenticating the enrollment using the corresponding domain. Note that for Apple devices, authentication using Google account can be configured only on iPad and Mac.

Here is how you can do this.

1. Login to your Hexnode MDM console.
2. Configure G Suite/Okta.
3. To enroll devices using DEP, navigate to Enroll > All Enrollments > No-touch > Apple Business/School Manager.
4. Configure your DEP account and while creating the DEP profile, check the option Enable Hexnode UI for Authentication. This enables Hexnode’s enrollment authentication page to be shown while setting up the device, instead of Apple’s Remote Management page.
   
   
5. The authentication mode selected globally under Admin > Enrollment > Authentication Modes gets applied here. You need to ensure to enable Google/Okta accounts here.
