Hello!

It’s possible to add option to set a period of time for settings “Keep screen on (Android)”?

For example screen will be always on On working hours and will be of at night.

Best regards,

  • Hi there,

    Hope you are doing well,

Currently, we do not have the option to schedule actions or policies on devices, however, this is a feature that we have on our roadmap. For the time being, you could make use of a dynamic group in order to have the configuration changed on the device based on specific criteria. For this, you could use conflicting configurations of your kiosk policy.

First, you would have to clone the policy by navigating to Policies > Hover your mouse over the right of the policy entry > Clone policy.

Once this is done, you could have the option to “keep screen on” under Policy > Kiosk lockdown > Android > Peripheral settings unchecked in the cloned policy. When this cloned policy is associated with the device, the device screen would be turned off. You could have this policy associated with a dynamic group of devices that satisfy specific criteria e.g. location, battery level etc. When the devices meet these criteria specified, it would be added to the dynamic group and hence the policy would be applied. Here is a link with more information regarding the dynamic groups https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/dynamic-device-groups/

By setting the dynamic group criteria, you would be able to decide the conditions under which the devices would be associated with the policy, however, you would not be able to get this done based on time. When we release the feature for time-based policies, however, you would be able to have the cloned policy associated with the device based on the time requirement.

We shall raise a feature request on your behalf regarding the time-based policies and keep you in the loop with the updates. Here is a link you could refer to for the upcoming features on our roadmap as well https://www.hexnode.com/forums/forum/whats-cooking/

Stay safe and have a great day!
