Hexnode MDM, a top enabler in Enterprise Mobility Management, announced earlier this week, day 1 support for iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra. iOS 11 is going to be released on 19th this month and macOS 10.13 High Sierra on 25th.

New Features for iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra

Not just providing the support for the newer operating systems from Apple, Hexnode MDM is adding these features exclusive to iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra (10.13):

  1. Removing system apps (iOS 11, supervised only)
With Hexnode MDM and a device running iOS 11, it is possible to remove any system apps from your device if you think it is an unnecessary one.
  2. Disallow users to create new VPN configuration (iOS 11, supervised only)
Users can now be disallowed from creating their own VPN configurations on their device. User-customized VPNs might close down access to corporate devices.
  3. Secure printing with AirPrint (iOS 11 and macOS 10.13 High Sierra, supervised only)
AirPrint lets you print anything from the device wirelessly. This feature is one of those features which will improve usability and simplicity. But when you feel this feature a pain, just disable it, users won’t be using AirPrint anymore.Devices can identify iBeacon-enabled devices and can perform actions when the mobile device is in close proximity with an iBeacon-enabled device. To boost the security up, a secure TLS certificate can be forced for printing wirelessly. On iOS, the AirPrint credentials can be stored on Keychain and can be synchronized across the user’s Apple devices.
