Hexnode Jira integration

TL;DR

  • Hexnode UEM integrates with Jira and Jira Service Management to turn qualifying device events into trackable tickets automatically.
  • Alert Profile conditions trigger tickets in a selected project, removing manual incident handoffs across IT and security teams.
  • OAuth 2.0 connectivity and configurable ticket details align device alerts with existing Jira workflows.
  • Action History records outcomes, ticket IDs, events, and Alert Profiles, with PDF or CSV exports for auditing and troubleshooting.

Hexnode UEM Brings Device Events Into Jira and JSM

Hexnode UEM now integrates with Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM), enabling ticket creation directly from device-management events.

Without an integration or automation connecting device alerts to Jira, administrators may need to create tickets manually. This added another handoff between endpoint monitoring and the teams responsible for tracking and addressing the event.

With the Hexnode Jira integration, an event that meets the conditions configured in an Alert Profile automatically triggers ticket creation in the selected Jira or JSM project.

Turn Configured Device Events Into Jira Tickets

The integration lets device events flow into existing Jira workflows without requiring administrators to create each ticket manually. When a configured event occurs, Hexnode sends the specified ticket details and relevant event information to the selected Jira or JSM project.

Automation also requires visibility. Administrators need to confirm whether each ticket-creation attempt succeeded or failed, especially when operational follow-up depends on a complete handoff. Retaining these records provides an accessible trail for auditing, reporting, and troubleshooting failed attempts.

Control the Integration from Connection to Audit

Administrators securely connect Hexnode UEM to Jira or JSM using Atlassian OAuth 2.0 credentials. The destination project is then selected when configuring the corresponding ticket-creation action in an Alert Profile.

In an Alert Profile, administrators can add either Create a Jira ticket or Create a Jira Service Management ticket. When an event satisfies the configured conditions, Hexnode creates a ticket containing the specified details and relevant event information.

Operational controls support the integration throughout its lifecycle:

  • Sync available projects to keep project selections current.
  • Activate or deactivate the integration, update OAuth credentials, or remove the integration.
  • Filter Action History by Success or Failed to verify ticket-creation attempts.
  • Review the associated Alert Profile, event, and ticket ID for each record.
  • Select a ticket ID to open the corresponding ticket directly in Jira or JSM.
  • Export ticket-creation records as PDF or CSV for auditing, reporting, or troubleshooting.

Configure the Hexnode Jira Integration in Three Steps

  1. Connect the platform. In the Hexnode console, go to Admin > Integrations > Available Integrations and choose Jira or Jira Service Management. Enter an integration name and the Atlassian Client ID and Client Secret to configure the connection. Select the destination project when configuring the corresponding ticket-creation action in an Alert Profile.
  2. Define the ticket trigger. Open an Alert Profile and add Create a Jira ticket or Create a Jira Service Management ticket, depending on the configured integration. Specify the event conditions that should trigger the action and provide the ticket details Hexnode should send when those conditions are met.
  3. Verify ticket creation. Open Action History to confirm each ticket-creation attempt and check whether it shows Success or Failed.

From Alert Profile Trigger to Jira Ticket

When a device-management event meets the conditions in an Alert Profile, Hexnode sends the configured ticket details and relevant event information to the selected Jira or JSM project. The chosen ticket-creation action then creates the corresponding ticket in that project.

Each attempt remains traceable through Action History. Administrators can review the ticket ID, triggering event, associated Alert Profile, and Success or Failed creation status. They can also select the ticket ID to open the corresponding Jira or JSM ticket for follow-up.
