What is MDM app on Android?

MDM in general is used to manage, secure, and monitor all the enrolled mobile devices.

When an enterprise pushes device configurations and remote actions to the enrolled Androids through an MDM server, there needs to exist an agent on the device that can receive these configurations and apply them to the device. This is the primary function of an MDM app on Android devices.

The MDM App is an agent app used to establish communication between the managed Android device and the MDM server. The device configurations, location tracking policies, remote actions, network configurations, and device restrictions can be installed and applied on the managed Android device through the MDM app.

Using the Hexnode UEM App, end-users can monitor and check if the device meets the enterprise’s compliance criteria, view messages broadcasted by the IT admin, install the list of apps approved by the enterprise, and much more.
