What is UEM enrollment?

Unified endpoint management (UEM) solutions allow organizations to monitor and manage all PC and mobile devices connected to their network, which helps corporate secure all the endpoints remotely.

To secure a device with UEM, it needs to be enrolled into the UEM console first. With enrollment, a device gets registered with your organization, allotted to users and granted access to work resources from virtually anywhere. Corporate will be able to apply policies and restrictions on the enrolled devices, this way the device functionality would be optimized to minimize downtime and improve user productivity.

UEM enrollment can be done in various ways depending on the on-boarding scenarios. Sometimes the device has to be pre-configured before allocating them to users. In such cases, the devices would be enrolled with UEM in advance and assigned to the users at a later time. In other instances, the users themselves would kick off the enrollment process. Here, the user assignment would be done during the onboarding process itself. Enrollment methods also vary according to the device type, number and OS platform.

Hexnode UEM supports a variety of enrollment options ranging from simple manual enrollment via email invites to quick and absolutely hands-free automated UEM enrollment options. In all these cases, the enrollment will be done either using an app or from the web, and this will vary according to the OS platform the device is running on.
