How to customize your iPhone and iPad Lock Screen

The iPhone/iPad Lock Screen, apart from displaying the date and time, show notification previews and allows you to access features like camera, widgets, and Siri. You can customize your iPhone/iPad Lock Screen by changing the Lock Screen wallpaper, setting Auto-Lock time, and configuring the notifications.

Change the wallpaper

  • Launch Settings from the Home Screen
  • Tap Wallpaper, select Choose a New Wallpaper
  • Select the location of the wallpaper you want to choose:
    • Dynamic: Circles that float around the screen and respond to your device’s motion.
    • Stills: Apple’s gallery of images.
    • Live: Apple’s gallery of Live Photo images
    • Libraries: All the images in your Photos app
  • Tap on the image of your choice
  • Tap Set, Set to Lock Screen if you want to set the wallpaper for the Lock Screen only.

Setting Auto-Lock time

  • From Settings, tap Display & Brightness
  • Tap Auto-Lock and select the timing you prefer
  • Configure notifications
  • From Settings, tap Notifications.
  • Select the app whose notifications you want to disable from the Lock Screen
