Dr. David Schippers brings decades of industry skills and expertise in information technology, cybersecurity, and project management in the emerging digital ecosystem, impacting regional, national and international business operations nearing a billion dollars.

At Walsh, Dave pioneered the Adversarial Cybersecurity Tradecraft class, amplifying student technical skills, critical thinking, situational awareness and response capabilities in real time hostile cyber events.  Dave created the first national automotive cybersecurity program, garnering national and international attention.  Under Dave’s direction, Walsh Information Technology Decision Sciences team revitalized and expanded cutting edge business STEM programs including: data analytics, data science, cybersecurity, programming, STEM leadership and global project management.  

Representing Walsh, Dave has contributed research for Automation Alley’s 2021, 2020 and 2019 Technology Reports and Michigan’s National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Military Vehicle Industrial Committee (MVIC): Integrating Cyber Resiliency for Military Platform 2019. Dave’s speaking includes: Connected Vehicle 2020 Global Conference India, Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering and Technology Symposium (GVSETS) 2019, Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) Global Payments Conference 2019, National Cyber Summit 2019 Huntsville, Automotive Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Auto-ISAC) Global Summit 2018, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) 2018, Merit Member Conference 2018, Michigan Infragard Regional Conference 2017, and Enfuse Global Conference 2016.

Dave earned his Doctorate of Science in Cybersecurity from Capitol Technology University.  Dave’s doctoral research focused on source device authentication, assessing engineering and forensic authentication techniques.  He earned his MS in Information Systems Management and his undergraduate degree in Information Security and Intelligence with a concentration in digital forensics from Ferris State University. Additionally, Dave holds the CISSP certification and a professional investigator license in Michigan.
