# How to troubleshoot issues with Hexnode Access on macOS?

[Hexnode Access](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/manage-login-to-macs-using-cloud-identity-providers-with-hexnode-access/) replaces the default login window on macOS devices with a customizable interface, enabling users to log in to their Macs using cloud-based Identity Provider (IdP) credentials. This document outlines potential issues that IT admins or users might encounter with Hexnode Access and ways to troubleshoot them.

1. The following authorization error occurs when attempting to log in to Macs after configuring Hexnode Access with Google Workspace. **Error 400: access_not_configured**

**“You can’t access this app until an admin at your institution reviews and configures access for it. If you need access to this app, Learn more.”**

**Cause**: This error is likely caused by specific settings in the Google Admin Console that conflict with the configuration requirements of Hexnode Access.

    **Solution:**

    1. Sign into [Google Admin Console](https://admin.google.com).
    2. Navigate to **Security** > **Access and data control** > **API controls** > **Settings**.
    3. If the **Unconfigured third party apps** option is set to **Don’t allow users to access any third-party apps**, change it to **(Default) Allow users to access any third-party apps**. ![Change Unconfigured third party apps option to default](https://cdn.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Allow-users-to-access-unconfigured-third-party-apps-.png "Allow users to access unconfigured third party apps")[](https://cdn.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Allow-users-to-access-unconfigured-third-party-apps-.png)
    4. Navigate to **Security** > **Access and data control** > **API controls** > **App access control** > **MANAGE THIRD-PARTY APP ACCESS** and select the Hexnode Access app.
    5. Select **Access to Google data** and click **Trusted**. ![Changed Access to Google data option to Trusted](https://cdn.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Allow-Hexnode-Access-app-to-access-all-Google-data.png "Allow Hexnode Access app to access all Google data")[](https://cdn.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Allow-Hexnode-Access-app-to-access-all-Google-data.png)

IT admins can verify these configurations before setting up Hexnode Access to prevent the error from occurring. If the error has already occurred, these settings can be reconfigured to resolve it.
2. The following error occurs when attempting to log in from a macOS device that has Hexnode Access configured with Google Workspace: **ldap_bind: Insufficient access (50)**

**Cause:** This error typically occurs when the user or application attempting to bind to the LDAP server lacks the required permissions to complete the operation.

    **Solution:**

To resolve this issue, ensure that the LDAP client has the necessary access:

    1. Sign into [Google Admin Console](https://admin.google.com/).
    2. Navigate to **Apps > LDAP**.
    3. Locate the configured LDAP client.
    4. Ensure that the **Service status** is set to **ON**.
