# How to Remove eSIM from Android Devices in Hexnode UEM?

When an eSIM Profile is No Longer Required
------------------------------------------

When a managed Android device is reassigned, an employee is offboarded, or the device’s cellular plan changes, remove the existing eSIM profile before applying the new cellular configuration. The **Remove eSIM** action silently removes Hexnode-deployed eSIM profiles from the device.

If the profile being removed is the device’s only active cellular connection, establish a Wi-Fi or other network connection before removal to ensure that the device maintains uninterrupted communication with the Hexnode UEM portal.

Prerequisites and Support Requirements
--------------------------------------

The device must meet the following requirements for the **Remove** **eSIM** action:

**Requirement****Description****Device Enrollment**The device must be enrolled in **Android Enterprise management** through Hexnode UEM.**Android Version**The device must be running Android 15 or later.**eSIM Support**The device must be eSIM-capable and have an eSIM profile available for removal.Step-by-Step Guide: Performing the Remove eSIM Action
-----------------------------------------------------

To remove an eSIM profile from an Android device, use the **Remove** **eSIM** action from the action menu, or delete the profile from the **eSIM** **Profile** section on the device details page.

### Initiate eSIM Profile Removal from Device Action

1. Go to **Manage** **>** **Endpoints**.
2. Select the required Android device.
3. Navigate to **Actions > Network** and select **Remove** **eSIM**.
4. Select the required eSIM profiles from the list of eSIM profiles. Each profile is displayed with its **name** and **activation code**.
5. Click **Done**.

### Delete the eSIM Profile from Device Details

The **eSIM** **Profile** section lists the eSIM profiles deployed through Hexnode UEM for removal.

1. Open the target Android device from **Manage > Endpoints**.
2. Locate the **eSIM** **Profile** section under the **Device Details** sub-tab.
3. Select the eSIM profile you want to remove from the list.
4. Click **Delete** for the required eSIM profile.
5. In the confirmation dialog, click **Done** to confirm the removal.

### When Multiple Devices Require eSIM Removal

To remove eSIM profiles from multiple supported Android devices simultaneously:

1. Go to the **Manage** tab.
2. Select the required devices for the eSIM profile removal.
3. Click **Actions > Network > Remove eSIM**.
4. In the **Remove eSIM** dialog, select the eSIM profile to remove for each device listed.
5. To remove multiple eSIM profiles from the same device, click **Add** and select another profile.
6. Click **Done** to initiate the removal.

Confirm the Status of eSIM Profile Removal
------------------------------------------

Verify the eSIM profile removal status from the Action History after initiating the **Remove** **eSIM** action. When multiple eSIM profiles are selected for removal, **Partial Success** indicates that removal succeeded for some eSIM profile and failed for others. Hover over the tooltip associated with the **Partial Success** to view which profiles were successfully removed and which failed.

Note:The outcome of the **Remove** **eSIM** action on **Profile Owner** devices depends on the device manufacturer. On some devices, **Action History** reports removal as **Failed** even when an eSIM profile is available for removal.
