# How to update Hexnode app in iOS devices without exiting kiosk

The UEM app gets installed automatically, once the device gets enrolled in Hexnode. Updating the Hexnode UEM app on kiosk-enabled iOS devices reduce the effort of exiting the kiosk mode every time there is an update. Each iOS device must be physically connected to a macOS computer via a USB cable to push the updates.

 Note: 
The device must be signed in to the Apple ID account for app installation and updates.

 

Hexnode UEM app update in iOS kiosk using Apple Configurator
------------------------------------------------------------

The Hexnode UEM app updates can be pushed to a device running in both [single app kiosk](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-enable-kiosk-mode-for-ios/) and [multi app kiosk](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-enable-multiple-app-kiosk-mode-in-ios/) provided the app is present in the kiosk.

1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to a macOS device using a USB cable.
2. Click on **Trust** for trusting the computer connected to your iOS device.

4. Open **Apple Configurator** on the macOS device and select the device to which the app has to be pushed.
5. Click on **Add** and choose **Apps**.
6. Sign in to your iTunes account and search for the **Hexnode UEM** app.
7. Select the app and click on **ADD**.
8. Click on **Replace**.

 Note: 
In the case of a single app kiosk, the updates will get installed on the device. But the kiosk mode must be exited and re-entered for the updates to reflect in the Hexnode app running in the foreground.
