# How to set up File Repository for Content Management?

Hexnode’s Content Management system allows organizations to securely store, manage, and distribute corporate data from a centralized location. By using the Hexnode File Repository, administrators can ensure seamless access to essential files, and folders.

#### Key Capabilities

- **Centralized Storage**: Upload files/folders once and access them across various policies.
- **Automatic Repository Capture**: Files uploaded directly within a policy configuration are automatically added to the main repository for future reuse.
- **Unified Access**: Manage documents, scripts, and media from a single interface.

Managing Files and Folders
--------------------------

The **Content** tab in the Hexnode UEM portal is categorized into two distinct views to help administrators quickly access resources based on their deployment tasks:

1. **Library:**Hosts the entire collection of files and folders. It acts as the primary workspace to build a structured, hierarchical directory, so all corporate resources remain neatly categorized.

Within the **Library,** you can access:

    - **All Files:** Displays a list of all files, such as documents, media, and configuration profiles. This view helps to quickly locate a specific asset, like a company-wide PDF or a corporate wallpaper.
    - **All Scripts:** Provides a dedicated, filtered view exclusively for the executable script files. Keeping scripts separate from standard documents streamlines IT automation, allowing admins to safely and rapidly find the exact custom scripts needed for device maintenance or configuration.
2. **Kiosk Shortcuts:**
    - **Documents:** Store and manage files (like PDFs and text documents) that need to be deployed as accessible shortcuts on restricted kiosk devices.
    - **Media:** Store and manage visual and audio files (such as images and videos) used for kiosk screensavers, branding, or media shortcuts.

### Adding contents to the Content tab

You can build your repository by uploading existing files/folders from the device or creating new folders directly in the portal.

1. Click the **Add Content** button.
2. Select your desired action:
    - **Upload File:** Select a file from your device, or generate a script using Hexnode Genie, then click **Save.**
    - **Upload Folder:** Enter a folder name, click **Select Folder** to locate the directory on your device, and click **Save.**
    - **Create Folder:** Enter a name for your new empty folder and click **Save.**

### Modifying and Organizing Content

Hexnode UEM provides two ways to manage your repository items depending on how many files you are handling:

- **Individual Actions:** Click the **vertical ellipsis (⋮)** next to any single file or folder. The following actions are available for files/folders:
ActionDescription**Move**Relocate the selected file or folder to a different destination within the Hexnode repository.**Copy**Create an exact duplicate of the file or folder in a specified location.**Edit**Modify the details, such as the name, version of the file, or folder.**Download**Save the item to your local device. Files download directly, while folders are downloaded as a compressed ZIP file.**Version History (Available for Files)**The file’s history can be accessed to view or restore past versions. From here, the file name and version details can be edited, check which version is currently active, or a copy can be downloaded. If multiple versions exist, a specific one can easily be set as the active version.**Copy File Key (Available for Files)**Copy the file key to the clipboard. Supported only for Android .vcf (contacts) file type and audio file types.**Delete**Permanently remove the selected file or folder from your repository.
- **Bulk Actions:** Select the checkboxes next to multiple files/folders and click the Actions button at the top to Move, Copy, or Delete items simultaneously.

 Note:
If an updated file uses an unsupported format, it will be removed from the following associated policies:
