# How to configure Seuic devices with OEMConfig OEMConfig, a brand-new Android standard from Google, enables the OEMs to create a set of custom-made features specific to their devices that UEMs like Hexnode can immediately support. This enables organizations to seamlessly roll out these restrictions/configurations to devices immediately as the feature releases with no further delay. The OEMConfig feature in Hexnode allows you to deploy these settings to your devices remotely. You can use OEMConfig in Hexnode to set up your Android Enterprise-managed Seuic CRUISE 1 (Android 9.0) device for work using OEMConfig. To set up Seuic devices with OEMConfig, 1. Enroll your organization in the [Android Enterprise](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-enroll-organization-in-android-enterprise-using-hexnode-mdm/). 2. Enroll the device in the Android Enterprise either as [Device Owner](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-enroll-a-device-in-android-in-the-enterprise-as-device-owner-using-hexnode-mdm/) or [Profile Owner](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-enroll-a-device-in-android-in-the-enterprise-as-profile-owner-using-hexnode-mdm/). 3. [Approve and add Seuic OEMConfig app](#add-seuic-oemconfig-to-the-hexnode-app-inventory) to the Hexnode app repository. 4. Set up the [app configurations](#set-up-seuic-specific-configurations) for the app. 5. Associate the configurations with [target entities](#associate-target-devices). Add Seuic OEMConfig to the Hexnode app inventory ------------------------------------------------ 1. On your Hexnode UEM console, navigate to the **Apps** tab. 2. Click on **+Add Apps > Managed Google Apps**. 3. Search for [Seuic OEMConfig](https://play.google.com/work/apps/details?id=com.seuic.seuicoemconfig) and select the app. 4. Click on **Approve**. 5. A pop-up specifying the permissions required by the app will be displayed. Go through it and click **Approve**. 6. This will take you to the **Approval Settings** page. Select a method by which you would handle new app permission requests. You can choose from: 1. **Keep approved when app requests new permissions**: Select this to ensure that the app is kept approved in the portal even if new permissions are required. The users will be able to update the app. 2. **Revoke app approval when this app requests new permissions**: Select this option to remove the app from the app repository until it is reapproved when it requires new permissions. 7. On the same pop-up wizard, navigate to the **Notifications** tab. To subscribe to email notifications when the approved apps request new permissions, enter the email address and click on **Add**. You can add as many subscribers as you need. 8. Click on **Done**. This will add the app to the Hexnode app repository. Before deploying the OEM configurations to the devices, you have to ensure that Seuic OEMConfig is installed on the devices. You can use the remote action [Install Application](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/install-android-app/#install-apps-via-remote-actions) or the [Mandatory App](https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-enforce-app-installation-on-android-devices-using-hexnode-mdm/#add-mandatory-apps-via-policy) policy to remotely roll out the app to the devices. Set up Seuic specific configurations ------------------------------------ 1. On your Hexnode MDM console, navigate to the **Policies** tab. 2. Click on **New Policy** to create a new policy or edit an existing policy. Provide a policy name and description (Optional) if you are creating a new policy. 3. Go to **Android > App Management > App Configurations**. 4. Click on **Configure > + Add new configuration**. 5. Search and select Seuic OEMConfig from the list of apps. 6. Configure the available settings before saving the policy. Listed here are some of the basic OEM-specific configurations, Device Settings SettingsDescriptionSound PlayEnable this option to play a voice prompt while scanning.ViberateToggle on this option to disable the vibration on scanning.Play Scan LEDEnable to allow the LED indicator to flash the red light once when the scan is successful.AppendDisable this feature to blocks continuously outputting bar codes.Auto ClearToggle on this option to automatically clear the last scanned barcode before scanning the next.Booted StartEnable this option to automatically turn on the scan tool while booting up.Show TypeIf enabled, the device will display the barcode type while scanning.Filter invisible charsEnable to filter invisible barcode characters.Stop Scan On UpIf this option is enabled, - On releasing the scan button, the scan light turns off immediately. - If continued pressing the scan button, the scan light will automatically turn off after the set time period. Notes: To send via EMUKEY, you will need to use the hard keys to input. ### Barcode Params Configurations With this configuration you can set up the barcode parameter for the following types of barcodes: For **S8 Scanner**: Code 128, UPC/EAN, Code 39, Code 93, Code 11, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar, MSI, RSS, QR, Data Matrix, China Post, Matrix 2 of 5, Postal Code, EAN UCC Composite, Composite, PDF417, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, Aztec, Codablock F, Telepen, OCR, and Grid Matrix. For **X3 Scanner**: Code 128, UPC/EAN, Code 39, Code 93, Code 11, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar, MSI, RSS, QR, Data Matrix, China Post, Matrix 2 of 5, Composite, PDF417, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, Aztec, Codablock F, and Telepen. You can also configure basic parameters for each scanner type like Duration, Scanning angle, Time-out, Continuous scan, and more with the option **Basic settings**. Connectivity Settings SettingsDescriptionEnable Wifi SettingsEnable this option to allow users to enable Wi-Fi on their devices.Set Wifi SettingsToggle on to enable Wi-Fi on the device. By default, this is enabled.Set Country CodeSelect the country from the drop-down menu. By default, USA is selected.Enable Frequency Band SettingIf enabled, users can set the WLAN frequency band on their device. By default, this is allowed.Set Frequency BandSet any of the following as the device’s WLAN frequency band – Automatic, 2.4 GHz only, and 5 GHz only. The default value is Automatic.Enable Roam Delta SettingRoam delta level is the signal strength that a device looks in an APN before roaming to a new APN. Enable this option to allow users to manually set the roam delta level.Set Roam DeltaSet the device’s roam delta level as any of the following values: 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 dBm. By default, this is 5dBm.Enable High Density Environment SettingToggle on this option to enable users to set the high-density environment. By default, this is enabled.Set High Density EnvironmentEnable to turn on high-density environment in the device. By default, this is disabled.Enable Speed Up Roaming Time SettingSpeeding up roaming time enables devices to switch between access points in less time, thus enhancing the Wi-Fi strength and experience. If this is enabled, users will be able to configure this setting on the device. By default, this is enabled. Set Speed Up Roaming TimeEnable faster roaming by switching on this option. By default, this is disabled.Enable AGC MODE SettingAllow users to adjust the ADC mode on their devices by enabling this option.Set AGC MODESelect any of the AGC modes provided in the drop-down. This will be set as the devices’ AGC Mode.Enable SSID Filter Rules SettingIf enabled, users can manually add SSID filter rules.Set SSID Filter RulesSelect No Filter Control, Whitelist SSID Filter Control, or Blacklist SSID filter as the filtering rule. This will get applied to the device.Enable White/Black List SSID Config SettingIf enabled, users will be able to whitelist or blacklist the Wi-Fi SSID configurations on the device.Add White List SSID ConfigEnter the comma-separated list of SSIDs that you want to whitelist on the device.Remove White List SSID ConfigEnter the comma-separated list of SSIDs that you want to remove from the device.Clear White List SSID ConfigIf enabled, all the SSID configs that you have whitelisted in the device and specified at “Add White List SSID Config” will be removed from the device.Add Black List SSID ConfigEnter the comma-separated list of SSIDs that you want to be blacklisted on the device.Remove Black List SSID ConfigEnter the comma-separated list of SSIDs that you want to remove from the device.Enable Power Save Mode SettingEnable to allow users to set the power saving mode on the device.Set Power Save ModeEnable to turn on power-saving mode on the device.Enable Data Rate SettingIf enabled, users are allowed to set the data rate on the device.Set Data RateSelect a data rate from the drop-down that can be utilized on the device.Enable PHY MODE SettingIf enabled, users are allowed to configure their PHY MODE on the device.Set PHY MODESet the PHY MODE on the device by selecting an option from the drop-down. 802.11 AUTO is default value.Enable Roaming Trigger SettingAllow users from configuring the roaming trigger by enabling this option.Set Roaming TriggerSelect a value from the drop-down as the roaming trigger value. This will get remotely configured on the device.Enable Airplane Mode SettingEnable users to turn airplane mode on/off on their device. This feature is enabled by default.Set Airplane ModeSwitch airplane mode on/off on their device using this feature. It is disabled by default.Enable BlueTooth SettingIf enabled, users are allowed to configure Bluetooth settings on their devices.Set BlueTooth SettingTurn this option off to turn off Bluetooth on the device. Advanced Device Settings SettingsDescriptionEnable Automatic Time Zone SettingAllow users to set Automatic Time Zone Settings using this feature.Set Automatic Time ZoneIf enabled, the automatic time zone will be enabled on the device.Enable Select Time Zone SettingConfigure whether users should be able to select the device time zone.Set Select Time ZoneSelect any of the time zones from the drop-down. This will be set as the device’s time zone. Note: Disable Automatic Time Zone for this feature to work. Enable Automatic Date & Time SettingIf enabled, users can configure the data and time on their device.Set Automatic Date & TimeEnable this option to remotely configure data and time settings of a device.Enable the NTP Server SettingEnable or disable users from configuring NTP server settings on their devices.Set the NTP ServerEnter the NTP server name that you want to configure on your device. By default, this is 2.android.pool.ntp.org.Force Reboot Device For NTP Server SettingEnable to force reboot the device when the NTP server settings change.Set Sync FrequencySelect the frequency of the NTP server sync from the drop-down. The available values are 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 0.5 year, and 1 year. By default, this 1 week.Allow Lock Screen SettingEnable this setting to allow users to alter the lock screen settings of the device.Lock Screen SettingYou can select any of the following values from the drop-down: Immediately, 5 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 30 minutes. By default, this is 5 seconds.Secure Start-upEnable to allow users to enable or disable secure start-up.Enable Screen Timeout SettingIf enabled, users can manually configure the screen time-out setting in the device.Set Screen TimeoutSelect the time after which the screen will be turned off on inactivity. By default, it is selected as 1 minute.Enable Auto-Rotate Screen SettingToggle on this option to allow users to configure the auto-rotate feature on the device.Set Auto-Rotate ScreenEnable this option to allow device auto-rotate.Enable Stay Awake SettingIf enabled, users will be able to configure the stay awake settings on their devices. By default, this is allowed.Set Stay AwakeToggle on to remotely enable stay awake feature on the device. By default, this is disabled.Enable Display Size SettingIf enabled, the users can manually configure the display size on the device. By default, this is allowed.Set Display SizeSelect either Default, Small or Large as the device display size.Enable Device Font Size SettingEnable this option to allow users to set the device font size. By default, this is enabled.Set Device Font SizeSelect either Small, Default, or Large as the device font size.Allow SD Card MoveEnable this option to let the users decide to move their files to the SD card or not. This feature is disabled by default.Allow SD Card WriteEnable this to let the users allow or disallow SD Card write on their devices. This feature is disabled by default.Allow USB Host StorageIf enabled, users are allowed to set the USB host storage on their devices. This feature is disabled by default.Allow Setting ChangesConfigure this setting based on whether you want to enable your users to set up the device settings. This feature is enabled by default.Enable Develop Options SettingIf enabled, users are allowed to configure the developer options on the devices.Set Develop OptionsConfigure the developer option on the device using this feature.Allow Background DataIf enabled, users will be allowed to configure the background data.Enable Magnify With Triple-Tap SettingIf switched on, users can enable or disable the option “magnify with triple-tap” on the device. By default, this is enabled.Set Magnify With Triple-TapIf enabled, users can tap thrice on their device to magnify it.Block Users From Adding Any AccountsIf toggled on, the users will be able to see the configured accounts on the device (unblocked state).Media volumeEnter an integer between 0 and 15, 0 being mute. By default, this is set as 8.Ring volumeEnter an integer between 0 and 7, 0 being mute. By default, this is set as 4.Alarm volumeEnter an integer between 0 and 7, 0 being mute. By default, this is set as 4.Enable Do Not Disturb SettingIf enabled, users will be able to manually enable/disable the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option in the device.Set Do Not DisturbSwitch on this option to enable ‘Do Not Disturb’ on the device.Enable Storage Manager Setting RemotelyToggle on this option to allow users to manually configure the Store Manager option on the device. By default, this is enabled.Set Storage Manager RemotelyIf enabled, the store manager will get remotely configured on the device. By default, this is disabled.Enable Power Saving Mode SettingIf enabled, users will be able to configure power saving mode on the device. By default, this is allowed.Set Power Saving ModeToggle on this option to switch on power saving mode on the device. By default, this is disabled.Allow USB TetheringEnable this option to allow users to configure USB tethering on the devices. By default, this is enabled.Reboot ImmediatelyEnable to set the reboot option as reboot immediately. By default, this is enabled. Once you have saved these configurations, click on the pencil icon corresponding to the app name in the “App Configurations” tab to edit any of the configured settings. Associate target devices ------------------------ If the policy has not been saved, 1. Navigate to **Policy Targets**. 2. Click on **Devices/ Device Groups/ Users/ User Groups/ Domains**. 3. Choose the targets and click **OK** and then **Save**. If you have the policy saved already, 1. Go to **Policies** tab and choose the desired policy. 2. Click on the **Manage** drop-down and select **Associate Targets**. 3. Choose the target entities and click **Associate**. You can choose devices, users, device groups, user groups, and domains as the policy targets. Note: The OEM specific-settings explained in this document are based on the configurations set by the respective OEM vendors, which may vary frequently. Since Hexnode is not solely responsible for setting up these configurations, you may find slight variations in the settings displayed on the portal from this document.
